Ford U502 Side Sill

Ford U502 Slide SillThe Ford U502 Side Sill System consists of an offline projection nut welder that feeds a mainline system that builds the left hand and right hand Side Sill’s in alternating cycles. The mainline consists of two dial table operator load stations with left hand and right hand parts loaded to opposite sides of the dial table. A single servo spot welding robot applies the appropriate number of welds at the weld side of the dial table to establish part geometry. A single material handling robot transfers the assembly from the first dial table, applies sealant and loads to the second dial table. A series of two material handling robots complete the remaining welds on two servo spot welding pedestal station prior to nut welding, nut check, date coding and unload to the finished conveyor system. An overhead lift assist is used to pick up the finished assembly for inspection and pack to the finished good rack.
